  1. Edit Button for Grades

Please return the EDIT button in the grade menu. It is much easier to check and verify grades in MISIS and make the necessary changes than it is in Schoology. Also, the verification of the correct entering of marks is much easier to see.

The District has mandated that all teachers use the Schoology Gradebook. You can provide feedback for improvement via the Schoology system.

The District has mandated that all teachers use the Schoology Gradebook to submit student grades, that’s why the MiSiS Edit buttons have been disabled.

  3. Edit Button for Grades

Please bring back the edit button for grades. This is a great tool to use for editing submitted grades and is much simpler than Schoology. In addition to that, the drop down lists for the comments is much simpler to use than the clunky system that is used in Schoology.

Report Card Comments are approved by the District. The school should make a request to the Division of Instruction for any comment consideration.

  5. Elementary Report Card Comment Codes

Please update the comment codes list. There are a range of codes that do not exist in the current version of the report card. I am referring to a 12 page list.

Report Card Comments are approved by the District. The school should make a request to the Division of Instruction for any comment consideration.

There are currently 763 comments available for teachers to choose for the Elementary School Report Card and 67 comments for the Secondary Schools Report Card.

The comment Code lists can be downloaded from the MiSiS Home page>Job Aids>Grades"

  6. Giving teachers access to all grade verifications

I have a concern, I use to be able to access all grade verifications not just my own but I have recently noticed that this feature is gone. Is there a way to fix this.

  7. Fix whatever makes it say "The screen could not be loaded. Please try again" Guess what I did FOUR times.

Each time I had to restart I had to enter ALL of my grades again because there is no way of saving until you get to the bottom of the page to click on the submit button. Why can't it be like a Google Docs that saves automatically as you enter info?!
I find this a complete waste of time, my personal time, because I can't work on report cards during my instructional time. It is disrespectful, when year after year, you promise to fix all these glitches, and you don't. I should send you a bill for the amount…

On behalf of the MiSiS team, I apologize that you experienced issues with grade entry. There was some slowness over the weekend, but no issues reported that prevented entry of grades. Without knowing the details of your specific computing device (browser, connection, type), I am unable to redirect your issue. My suggestion is to contact the MiSiS Helpdesk directly for troubleshooting assistance.

Regarding being able to save grades, you may be able to set the ability to periodically auto-save your entries. From the Admin menu, select User Preferences. “Auto Save-Grades” should be one of the options – you are able to select a value up to 30 minutes. Please advise if this does not work for you – you may email me directly at tosha.davis@lausd.net.

Thank you for your feedback. There were system speed issues over the weekend, and intermittent outages earlier today, but they have since been resolved. This item is more aligned with helpdesk support than a system enhancement, so I am closing it in this forum. Please reach out to the MiSiS Helpdesk if you continue to experience problems with grade entry.

  10. Warning Window When Signing Out/Reducing Comments Section

    Hello,

    1. When I input my grades, MISIS signs me out WITHOUT any warning whatsoever. I am taking my time to make sure that I unput the grades correctly and scroll through the comments to make sure that every student receives the proper comment and grade. This process takes a lot of time. As a result, I need to input the grades for various subjects twice. Another option is to click on the SAVE button after each student which takes extra time as well. I would like MISIS to give me some kind of warning when when it's about to sign…

    1. This is more of a Help Desk topic. Our expert recommends checking that you are not logged into two different instances at the same time (e.g., two tabs within the same browser). The timer normally gives a warning and is reset when one navigates to a different screen. Please contact the Help Desk online, via chat, or phone:
    https://achieve.lausd.net/helpdesk

    2. Comments may be applied to multiple subject areas. Therefore, the entire list is made available. However, a navigation short cut is available: click on a comment field and type a key word, phrase, or number such as “listening”, “support”, “benchmark” or “LA12”. Doing so brings up the applicable comment(s) of interest.
