The old UI was better. A single click changed from present to absent. Now a precise drag is required.
Instead of scanning down the list to find the next absent student I have to focus on the pull-down menu. One single click was changed to three steps (click - move - click) and the precise move required forces me to focus on the box removing my focus from the paper attendance sheet.
This change creates an opportunity for errors to enter. Before, a single click changed the status to absent. That has a very low chance of error. The newly required mouse movement/selection is not so robust.
Before, the box had two different areas, one that opened the pull down and another that rotated through the options when clicked. Clicking was faster.
The new way is slower and worse. Please change it back.
