We need more room (space, characters) to be allowed to type in the student contact log. It cuts you off and the counselors have complained
We need more room (space, characters) to be allowed to type in the student contact log. It cuts you off and the counselors have complained about it also. We have to make multiple entries in order to explain about a conference we had or to discuss student situations. Also, thee is no longer a behavior option to choose from, and we cannot put in office staff as spoken to. This needs to be added in also.

Please give us back the old Search Student Screen. The new one is giving me a headache. It is a waste of my time
The idea is to simplify our work. It is not happening.
3 votesBased on usage data, users were using Advanced Search more often than simple search. MiSiS did contact some school and central office users about removing the screen. The new advanced search requires less scrollingthan the prior screen and sections can be collapsed.

Add a single-click date selector for attendance IN ADDITION TO a date range selEctor
Adding the option of a single-click date selector in addition to the date range selector would dramatically increase the efficiency of the system for attendance taking. Instead of having to click on the same date twice to update attendance for a single day (redundant), we could click that date only once to update, OR use the date range selector to update multiple dates. This need for efficiency becomes apparent when updating attendance for many individual students on different days.
1 voteDue to state certification rules, when updating attendance for a class, it must be done a day at a time. This option is available in the Update Attendance screen.

"An error has occurred" message is far too common
We are receiving the message "An error has occurred" a few times a day, every day. Sometimes it can cause great frustration, such as when mass-updating attendance for a school event with lots of kids participating. The error usually shows up when you click submit, AFTER entering all the data. This message pops up and causes no data to be submitted, and we have to enter it again. i am trying to paste a screenshot but apparently MISIS does not allow it.

Separate students schedules by grade level. So 8th grade's schedule can be changed for culmination practice and culmination day.
On culmination time, 8th grade students in Middle Schools and 12 grade students in High Schools must practice for culmination. They stay with one teacher all day during practice days. Attendance taking is affected because they are not going back to to their classes every period. So if the schedule could be changed to just one period on those days only for seniors, that would help attendance taking accuracy.
1 voteDistrict policy does not support the practice of fewer periods meeting for certain grade levels. Therefore this cannot be implemented.

uncleared absence
is there a way you can extend the date range on the uncleared absence how it was before so we can view the report of all uncleared absence.
2 votesThe Uncleared Absence Report can be generated for the current and previous school year. It defaults to the first instructional day and ends on the current date.

UnCleared Absences Report
Please set the default time to show the current date in the Start date field. I am requesting an efficient process that includes not having to adjust the Start date, an extra step taken when running this report every hour.
2 votesPer business owners, this report should default to the first day of the school year to make sure all school users clear all absences for the entire school year.

Use abbreviations for tardy, left early, absent
Right now, tardies and absences all look the same. Let's say a student comes late to school, that might be marked as 1L, or "late to first period". Then, that student is tardy, so 2T or "tardy to second period". Then, the student left early/was checked out, so 3LE or "left early from third". These designations would be helpful to teachers later in the day to see what was going on with the student, and to help a student if absences, tardies, or leaving early became a chronic problem. Adding L for late, T for tardy, or LE for left…

Option to print a 10 Column Roster, instead of only 5 Column.
A 5 column roster is used for many reasons, it allows people to have a paper copy for use. A 10 Column Roster does the same but allows for reducing paper use. Some teachers use it for grading or recording student information as they walk around the room. The 10 Column Roster used to be available but was not added when Misis was implemented.
1 voteThank you for your feedback. The 10 column roster was not a feasible option. Users can download the report in Excel and add as many columns as needed.

Absence reason codes can (sometimes) only be input after submitting an absence/tardy
When updating attendance it is frequently not possible to input a reason code unless we have previously submitted an absence or tardy. Sometimes MISIS will allow us to input an absence and a reason code at the same time, but sometimes it does not. An A or T must be entered before MISIS will allow a reason, which slows down the attendance process substantially. Additionally, the "Update for all periods" button is not functional (does not update or save), and presents with the same problem described above. The problem is recurring, but does not seem to follow a pattern. Sometimes…

Time-Out for Inactivity Feature
Managing a large roster of attendance can take more than the allotted time window in MiSiS to submit. Please increase the amount of time so that MiSiS does not log out before the entire roster is submitted.
1 votePer District Policy, MiSiS logs off after 60 minutes.

Attendance Not Submitted Report Date Range
Please default the Begin Date field to the current date in MiSiS while in Mozilla and Chrome browsers.
1 votePer business owners, this now defaults to the first day of the school year to make sure all school users clear all ANS for the entire school year.

AFTER CLEARING RECENT HISTORY AND SIGNING BACK ON TO MISIS I ONLY PUT IN 13 STUDENT ATTENDANCE RECORDS BEFORE THE "UPDATE FOR ALL PERIODS" POP-UP WINDOW WOULD NOT POP-UP, NOR THE INDIVIUALPERIOD POP-UP REASON CODE WINDOWS. I SHOULD HOPE THAT THIS POP-UP WINDOWS WOULD ALLOW MORE ENTRIES THAN 13 BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN THE POP-UP TO "CLEAR RECENT HISTORY"

Educator Absence Schedule Edit Button
Is it possible to move the edit button in the Educator Absence Schedule screen next to the teacher's name or next to the employee number? Currently, the edit button is on the far right of the screen, opposite the teacher's name. Although the alternating colors for each line helps, it is still sometimes difficult to select the correct teacher's name by clicking the edit button on the other side of the screen. This would save time to generate the daily temporary passwords necessary for the substitute teachers to take attendance. Thank you!
1 voteThank you for your suggestion.
Unfortunately, no. Many changes to MiSiS pages as a result of Section 508 compliance, is shifting items like action buttons, checkboxes, etc., to the right of the screen or window. We continue to explore options that make MiSiS more user-friendly and efficient. -
Clearing Attendance Discrepancies
When a student leaves early after attending only one class, teachers mark Leave Early with the time; however, it shows as a discrepancy since the student is only present for that one class. Include a feature that allows us to indicate the attendance is correct as shown - not an actual discrepancy.
